1.1.8. The case of the predicate nominal
When a translative case is used (rather than the ordinary nominative), the perfect form of the verb 'be/become' is used, and this copula verb must always be present.
Semmi-vé | lett | a | vagyon. |
nothing-TRE | become.PST.3SG | the | wealth |
’The wealth is gone. (Lit: The wealth has become nothing.)’
