11.2.3. Determination of indefinite noun phrases
Singular indefinite noun phrases can be determined by the (unstressed) indefinite article, or remain undetermined. Undetermined,bare noun phrases are non-specific.

Plural indefinite noun phrases can be determined by certain quantifiers.
