3.8.1. Relation to the nominal clause
The forms of the copulas practically are identical, except for the fact that existential verbs can never be absent. Existentials are thetic sentences, usually without a topic-comment structure.
Újra | lesz | egy | kutya | a | szomszédban. |
again | be.FUT.3SG | a | dog | the | neighbour-INE |
’There will be a dog again next door.’

Nominal clauses are categorical sentences, their subject must be specific and usually topical.
A | szomszéd | újra | kutyá-s | lesz. |
the | neighbour | again | dog-ATTR | be.FUT.3SG |
’The neighbour will have a dog again. (Lit: The neighbour will be a dog-owner again.)’
