4.4.1.  Case-marking

The possessor is dative marked. An unmarked possessor cannot be used in this construction.
A fiú-k*(-nak) van pénz-e.

’The boys have money.’

If the pronominal possessor is overt, it is dativa marked. Unmarked pronouns cannot be possessors in this construction.
Nek-em/*én van gyerek-em.
DAT-1SG/I be.3SG child-1SG
’I have a child.’
