8.2.1.  The presence/absence of a distinct lexical class of 'adjectives'

Adjectives (or rather, subsets of adjectives) can be defined as a class along certain distributional properties, such as characteristic allomorphs of nominal suffixes, or the capacity of being compared. A group of derivational suffixes (e.g. -Vs, -(j)ú/-(j)ű) can only derive adjectives. In most cases, adjectives are more felicitous as resultative secondary predicates. (The example illustrates the last observation.)
